
Imma Subirats has been working as information management officer at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) since 2006. Her work focuses on the enhancement of the creation, management, preservation and dissemination of information and data to access technical information on agriculture, fisheries and forestry through capacity development activities. These include advocacy, support and training in setting up open repositories, promoting standards, tools and good practices for the management and exchange of data, organizing workshops and other knowledge sharing events. Until 2014, She has facilitated the AIMS community, with more than 2,000 information specialists worldwide. She represents FAO in different initiatives such as GODAN, the Research Data Alliance (RDA) Agricultural Data Interoperability Interest Group and CIARD.
